Inaugurating toll roads in Jakarta, Jokowi: Mobility of people and goods in DKI will get better
President Joko Widodo hopes that the existence of the Pulo Gebang Kelapa Gading toll road within the City of Jakarta segment can facilitate the mobility of residents in the DKI Jakarta area.
He also wants the mobility of goods to be faster with the existence of this toll road.
This was conveyed by Jokowi when he inaugurated the Pulo Gebang-Kelapa Gading inner-city toll road in Jakarta, Monday (23/8/2021).
“The mobility of people in Jakarta will get better, the mobility of goods between cities, as well as between the city of Jakarta and its surroundings will also get better,” Jokowi said at the location.
Jokowi said the Pulo Gebang-Kelapa Gading toll road completes the Jabodetabek metropolitan toll road.
The 9.3 kilometer long toll road is also part of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR).
The President believes that the existence of the Pulo Gebang-Kelapa Gading toll road will speed up the logistics distribution process because this toll road is linked to the Marunda special economic zone and is connected to the Tanjung Priok Port.
“So it will strengthen our competitiveness,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi also wants the financing model applied in the construction of the Pulo Gebang-Kelapa Gading toll road segment to be carried out on various other toll roads, namely combining the budget mix of funding between ministries and state-owned enterprises or ministries, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector.

The PPP scheme, said Jokowi, could accelerate the construction of toll road projects that the government has planned.
“I hope that financing schemes like this can be used in infrastructure development in all provinces in all corners of the country so that they will be able to overcome inequalities between regions, between provinces, and accelerate our connectivity,” he said.
During the inauguration ceremony, Jokowi was accompanied by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono.
